Who we are
Hi, we're Mahir & Katya.
We're Mahir and Katya, a couple who moved to Eindhoven and remember how confusing the first months were.
We started gone.with.us to share what we wish someone had told us: what's on this week, how the paperwork works, and which places are worth your Saturday. We check the facts, link the official source, and keep our opinions clearly marked as ours.

People ask us
Do I need to speak Dutch in Eindhoven?
Not to get started. English works at university, in most workplaces and in most shops. Learning a few phrases makes daily life, and making Dutch friends, a lot easier.
Do I need a car?
Most people don't. A bike covers the city, buses cover the rest, and direct trains go to Amsterdam and Schiphol.
What's the hardest part of moving here?
Housing, by far. Start early, compare neighbourhoods, and be careful with anyone who asks for money before a viewing.
Is Eindhoven boring compared to Amsterdam?
It's smaller and calmer, but with DDW, GLOW, carnaval, PSV and Strijp-S there's a lot going on. Follow our heads-ups and you won't miss it.
Is this official advice?
No. We're not a government service or a law firm. Every article links to the government or organisation that sets the rule, and that source always wins. Tips and recommendations are our own opinion.
